E-invoice error explained

BR-DE-7: Seller contact e-mail address is missing

The seller contact block has no e-mail address.

What the rule checks

The seller contact block has no e-mail address. XRechnung requires one for questions about the invoice. In addition, BR-DE-28 warns when the value does not look like an e-mail address, for example without @ or with spaces. BT-43 is not the same as the seller's electronic address (BT-34).

The element "Seller contact email address" (BT-43) must be transmitted.

Typical causes

  • No e-mail address is maintained in the company data.
  • The export writes the address only as the electronic address (BT-34), not to the contact block.
  • The address is only in the PDF letterhead.

How to fix it

Add ram:EmailURIUniversalCommunication/ram:URIID to the contact block, for example "invoices@example.com". A shared mailbox works better than a personal address.

In Dynamics 365, Business Central and Finance

Sales / Project Operations: Sales and Project Operations have no e-invoice output out of the box. In the WBS Invoice Accelerator for Dynamics 365 the name, phone and e-mail come from the brand profile: Contact person, Phone and Email. Contact person is not on the brand profile form in version 1.1.0.2. Your administrator can ask WBS to set it. The brand profile Email is also used as the seller's electronic address (BT-34).

Business Central: Fill Contact Person, Phone No. and E-Mail on the Company Information page. If the file still has no contact, also check the salesperson (Salesperson Code) on the sales document, because depending on the export format the contact can come from there.

Finance: Finance takes the legal entity's contact details from the Person linked to the signed-in user. Check the name, phone and e-mail of that person.
