Dynamics 365 Customer Insights – Journeys Consulting & Implementation

We implement, migrate to and run Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights – Journeys (formerly Dynamics 365 Marketing) for B2B marketing and sales teams: real-time journeys, segments, email and event marketing, lead scoring and a clean hand-over to Dynamics 365 Sales. Microsoft partner, fixed-scope projects, support after go-live.

Why work with a Customer Insights – Journeys consultant

Journeys is powerful and unforgiving: consent, data model, segments and the hand-over to sales have to be right before the first email goes out, or marketing ends up with a tool nobody trusts. As a Microsoft partner, Woods Business Solutions designs the marketing process first – audiences, consent and double opt-in, journey triggers, scoring rules – and then configures Customer Insights – Journeys around it, connected to Dynamics 365 Sales and your website.

Implementation

Scoping workshop, process design and configuration: brand profiles and email templates, compliance profiles with double opt-in, segments, real-time journeys with triggers, forms and event registration, lead scoring and the qualification hand-over to Sales. Delivered in fixed-scope phases, with a first journey live early.

Migration & integration

Migration from HubSpot, Mailchimp, Marketo or the retired outbound marketing module: contacts, consent, templates and lists. Integration with Dynamics 365 Sales, Teams webinars, your website forms and Dataverse-connected pages, plus Power BI reporting.

Adoption & support

Training for marketers and sales users, Copilot rollout for content and journey creation, and a support retainer after go-live: new journeys and segments, deliverability questions, release updates and new features.

Copilot in Customer Insights – Journeys, set up so marketers actually use it

Copilot drafts emails from a few key points, builds journeys from a plain-language description and creates segments you describe in natural language. We switch it on with the right consent and data settings and train your team to use it on real campaigns. Microsoft’s video shows what it can do.

Customer Insights – Journeys capabilities we implement

Journeys covers the whole marketing funnel. Our consulting work is deciding which capabilities your team needs, configuring them properly and leaving out what would slow your marketers down.

Real-time journeys

Trigger journeys from customer actions – a form submission, an event registration, a deal stage change – or run them on a segment, and branch by behaviour. We design the journey templates, triggers and channels (email, text message, push, custom) your team will run day to day.

Segments and customer data

Build segments on Dataverse data from Sales, Field Service or your own tables – contacts, leads or unified profiles – preview who qualifies and why, and combine dynamic criteria with static lists. We set up the data model, consent and the attributes marketers actually need.

Email, forms and events

Brand-consistent email templates with personalisation, marketing forms on your website or on Dataverse-connected pages, and event and webinar management with registrations, Teams check-ins and reminders. We configure templates, sending domains and deliverability so emails land in the inbox.

Lead scoring and sales hand-over

Score leads on engagement and profile, qualify them automatically and hand them to Dynamics 365 Sales with the full journey history. We define the scoring model with sales and marketing together, so both sides trust the numbers.

Customer Insights – Journeys consulting FAQ

The questions we hear most often before a Journeys project starts.

Scope drives it: number of journeys and segments, email templates, event management, integrations, and whether contacts and consent have to be migrated. After a free scoping call we price the implementation as a fixed-scope project covering design, configuration, migration and training, plus the Microsoft licences (Customer Insights is licensed per tenant with capacity for contacts and interactions). You get a written offer, not an hourly estimate.

A first release with brand templates, consent, a handful of segments and two or three real-time journeys typically takes four to eight weeks. Event management, lead scoring and website integrations follow in phases.

Yes. Microsoft removed the outbound marketing module after 30 June 2025, so this is a common project. We migrate contacts, consent records, templates and lists, rebuild campaigns as real-time journeys and run test sends before cut-over.

Consent is configured before anything is sent: compliance profiles, purposes and topics, double opt-in flows and a preference centre on your own domain. Consent lives on the contact in Dataverse, so Sales sees it too.

Journeys and Sales share the same Dataverse contacts, leads and opportunities. We configure lead scoring and qualification so marketing-qualified leads land in sales queues with the full engagement history, and sales activity can start or stop journeys.
